How do I book an appointment?
Book online any time through Fresha, or call 0 477 488 081 during business hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Do I need to book in advance or can I walk in?
Walk-ins may be available when the barbers are free, but booking ahead is the surest way to get the time you want. We recommend selecting your preferred date and time 1 to 3 days in advance where possible.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, credit or debit cards, EFTPOS, and Apple Pay.
Do you offer full shave services?
Yes. Full hot-towel shaves are available as a standalone service or as part of a fuller grooming visit.
Do you offer beard grooming services?
Yes. We offer beard trims, beard shape-ups, and trimmer line-ups. You can choose the right beard grooming service when booking online or ask your barber during your visit.
Where exactly is Gem Barber located in Canberra?
We are located at Shop 5, 54 Marcus Clarke Street, Canberra ACT 2601 — centrally situated and easily accessible by public transport or private vehicle.
How can I check prices for haircuts and beard trims?
You can check current service options and prices when booking online through Fresha, or call us during business hours for help choosing the right haircut, beard trim, or grooming appointment. Student and senior options may be available when valid proof is shown.
How long does a haircut or beard trim take?
A standard haircut usually takes around 30 minutes, while a beard trim can take between 15 to 30 minutes depending on the service.
What styles do you offer — Modern or Classic?
We specialise in styles such as skin fades, zero fades, drop fades, scissor cuts, as well as popular classic looks. The barbers at Gem Barber are experienced in both modern and traditional styles to suit your preferences.
Are there particular cuts you’re known for?

Should I wash my hair before the appointment?
Clean, dry hair works best — washed within 24 hours of your appointment is ideal.
Do you provide services for teenagers and students?
Yes. We cut hair for teens and university students. Student options may be available when valid student ID is shown.
Do you serve anything while I wait?
Yes. We offer freshly brewed Persian tea to guests and their companions while they wait.
How far in advance should I book during busy periods?
During peak times such as weekends and public holidays, we recommend booking 2 to 3 days in advance to secure your preferred time.
Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?
Yes. You can update or cancel your booking through Fresha or by calling us during business hours. As much notice as you can give helps — it gives the slot a chance to be filled by another client.
Do you offer services for seniors?
Yes. Senior options may be available for eligible clients when valid proof of age is shown.
How often should I come in for a haircut or beard trim?
It depends on the style and how tidy you like to keep it. Fades and shorter cuts usually need attention every 2–3 weeks; longer scissor cuts can go 4–6 weeks. Your barber can recommend a cadence based on your cut.
